really like what you've done with your explorer, I really want to do that myself but I am not that comfortable with replacing my windows file and that's the biggest flaw in my current desk set up, any chance you could offer some help?

That'd be awesome
Sincerely Stag

oh well I didn't really do much to the explorer,
I used styler to change the buttons, and dragged the toolbars around to hide the bits I don't need.
Haven't been on Xp for a while, but if there is anything specific you want to know then ask me and I'll see if I can remember =)

basically it's the icons, you can't get away from the default explorer icon, no matter how much you replace the icons and everything tit still shows the open yellow folder with the magnification lens, the default icon :(

If I remember correctly, the explorer icons are located in shell32.dll

And replacer ([link]) will probably be flagged by norton, because it is hacking into critical system files ;)

Hope this helps

hehe, yeah, but that's an OLD inquire I have been running win7 (quite heavily modded, inculding shell32.dll) for a few months now.

right now, my biggest problem is that I want to use Litestep, but I want to have the win7 superbar more. do you know if you could use LS without touching the taskbar?

I doubt it - I think the win7 bar is part of explorer, which litestep replaces. I hope that the win7 build of litestep incorporates the features of the win7 bar because I really quite like the new taskbar :)

yeah, I haven't been following LS at all, but a win7 edition sounds neat, do you know if there is an eta?

As of now, I'm not sure, but the alpha builds of LS sort of work on win7. Nothing close to full integration, though :/

wierd ... I don't remember it being to hard to fix in XP... I guess I must of reshacked something
I wish I could work out to fix it on Vista... I thought I found it in one of the dll's but it didn't make any difference :-/

yeah I've tried reshacking explorer.exe but I still have to replace the original with my own and I don't want to blow my installation just like that :( should find another computer and do some trial and error I guess
